The
Brixton Reel Project is an annual event
dedicated to working with hard-to-reach local
communities and mental wellbeing. Although originating
in Lambeth, our work has taken us London-wide.
Communities we have successfully built engagement with
include; African-Caribbean, South Asian, Portuguese,
Latinx, Somali, Black LGBTQIA+, Transgender, Gypsy
Traveller and Latinx LGBTQIA+. |

We
use arts performances to attract large audiences,
exploring positive images of mental well-being and self
empowerment. Mental Health discussion panels at these
events include service users and Mental Health
professionals. They signpost local mental health support
services. Funding has included NHS Lambeth, Maudsley
Charity, Arts Council England, BFI, Hackney Council,
Lewisham Council and GLA. |
